About me

Introduction

I love helping students see subjects from new perspectives. My lessons are tailored to each learner, encouraging curiosity, independent thinking, and the confidence to go beyond what's expected.

Teaching style

Interactive and student-centred, with an emphasis on asking questions, exploring ideas, and building confidence.

Teaching philosophy

I believe education should inspire curiosity, encourage independent thought, and give students the confidence to explore ideas beyond the syllabus.

What I teach

I specialise in IB English Language & Literature (7), History of the Americas, Visual Arts, Mathematics AA SL (7), ESS, Japanese B (7), TOK (28/30, 10/10 Exhibition), and the Visual Arts EE. I support students with essay writing, analysis, exam preparation, IAs, IOs, and Comparative Studies, Process Portfolios, and EEs for Visual Arts, adapting each lesson to the student's needs and academic goals.

AdaptabilityAgree
DisagreeAgree
If a student walks in with a completely different problem, I'll happily throw out the plan.
Follow-upNeutral
DisagreeAgree
If the work doesn't get done, you'll hear from me before our next session.
Calm & low-pressureNeutral
DisagreeAgree
Even in exam season, my sessions should feel like the calmest hour of a student's week.
Exam focusAgree
DisagreeAgree
Six weeks before exams? Past papers, past papers, and more past papers.
Concept-firstStrongly agree
DisagreeAgree
I'd happily spend a whole session on one “why” if it finally clicks.
Warmth & rapportStrongly agree
DisagreeAgree
Studying with me should feel like texting a senpai, not emailing a teacher.
Subject focusStrongly disagree

I'm here to teach the subject. For life and uni advice, there are counselors.
